Africa Telerad provides hospitals, diagnostic centres and clinics with reliable radiology reporting and supporting medical imaging solutions.
Remote radiology reporting is our core service. We provide complete outsourced reporting for facilities without sufficient radiologist coverage and additional capacity for hospitals with existing radiology teams. Our reporting services are available across all major imaging modalities, with coverage 24 hours a day.
We also provide PACS implementation and medical image backup solutions to help healthcare facilities manage, access and protect their imaging studies.
Our reporting workflow is powered by AfyaRadTM, our secure teleradiology and medical imaging platform.
Africa Telerad provides complete remote reporting services for hospitals, diagnostic centres and clinics that need reliable access to radiologists.
Imaging studies are securely submitted through AfyaRadTM or another agreed connection and assigned to a suitably qualified radiologist. Our operations team monitors the reporting workflow, prioritises urgent cases and follows up on unassigned or delayed studies to support delivery within the agreed turnaround times. We provide reporting coverage 24 hours a day across X-ray, CT, MRI, ultrasound, mammography and other supported imaging modalities.
Africa Telerad helps hospitals extend the capacity and availability of their existing radiology departments.
Your employed radiologists can use AfyaRadTM to securely access assigned studies and report remotely when working from home, another branch or another approved location. This helps maintain reporting continuity when radiologists are away from the hospital. When your team requires additional capacity, Africa Telerad's radiology network can also provide overflow, after-hours, leave and additional specialist support. You retain your in-house team while gaining flexible access to extra reporting resources when needed.
Africa Telerad provides PACS solutions that enable healthcare facilities to store, manage and access medical images from different imaging modalities through a centralised system.
A PACS gives authorised radiologists and clinicians access to imaging studies from supported workstations, departments or hospital branches. This reduces dependence on physical film, improves image availability and supports a more efficient diagnostic workflow. Our team assesses your facility's requirements, configures the system, connects supported imaging equipment and provides staff training and ongoing technical assistance. Integration with an existing Hospital Information System or other clinical systems can be assessed based on their technical capabilities and available interfaces.
Africa Telerad provides on-site and off-site backup solutions to help healthcare facilities protect their medical imaging archives and maintain access to important historical studies.
On-site backup provides a local secondary copy for convenient access and recovery. Off-site backup stores an additional copy at a separate location, reducing the risk that hardware failure, accidental deletion, theft, fire or another incident at the primary facility will affect every available copy. We assess your imaging volumes, required retention period, connectivity and recovery requirements before recommending an appropriate backup arrangement.
Africa Telerad provides remote reporting across a broad range of diagnostic imaging modalities. Studies are assigned according to the radiologist's qualifications, experience and areas of competence. Availability for highly specialised examinations may depend on the clinical requirements, radiologist availability and the agreed service arrangement.
Reporting for chest, skeletal, abdominal and other general radiographic examinations.
Reporting for head, chest, abdomen, pelvis, musculoskeletal, trauma, angiographic and other CT examinations.
Reporting for neurological, spinal, musculoskeletal, abdominal, pelvic and other MRI examinations.
Reporting for supported abdominal, pelvic, obstetric, vascular and musculoskeletal ultrasound examinations where appropriate images and clinical information are provided.
Reporting for screening and diagnostic mammography, including supported digital mammography studies.
Interpretation of DEXA studies for bone-mineral density assessment and fracture-risk evaluation.
Reporting support for selected PET and PET-CT studies, subject to the required expertise and service arrangement.
Reporting support for selected nuclear-medicine studies, subject to radiologist availability and the examination requirements.
